Architecture & Energy:

The Vertical Wind Catcher Caravanserai (EVOLO 2019)

What would the Caravanserai of the future look like?
In the near future when “flying cars” are the ideal means of transport, what happens to family and group travels and caravans? Can we revitalize local identities and traditional architectural elements with a new approach?
Our recent submission for eVolo Magazine’s 2019 Skyscraper Competition explored this concept and developed a new building prototype for the city of Yazd in Iran.

Mixed-Reality Shared Spaces:

What makes a house a “home”?

“Home” is a living space in which memories are forged, formed by a family living “together”, where the residents adapt to the place, making it their own through appropriation. The Impact of Covid-19 on our daily lives has shown us more than anything, the need for a change in the way we design the spaces we live in.

In a near future when friends, families and co-workers might be physically even more distant, we propose a new house environment based on multifunctional mixed-reality shared rooms that can be personalized. Smart homes of the future will be interconnected and designated according to the number of shared rooms they possess, in addition to their typical non-shared spaces such as kitchen and bedrooms.
You can share moments in the same room with your loved ones that might be far away in other cities, countries or even planets. Future technologies such as Holoportation will enable the creation of a whole new category of housing in which one can experience mixed-reality Family/Friend gathering, Home Office/School/Studio, Yoga/Dance/Gym Classes and much more possibilities all from the comfort of their home, taking advantage of technologies to promote social activities, not possible due to physical distances.
